2.8 Wi XHC support?

Does anyone know if 2.8 has support out of the box for the XHC type controllers e.g. WHB04B-6 etc.? Or does anyone know of a step by step idiots guide to getting them to work with LinuxCNC? I have seen what look like probably quite good videos on doing it but neither were in a language I speak sadly . Also my Linux machine isn't internet connected and getting it connected isn't easy so anything that involves downloading packages etc. isn't going to work well for me which is why I'm hoping 2.8 may have native support straight off the ISO ?

The change log said it should support. But I don‘t know if it’s active in the standard package.
After updating with the precompiled packages from apt my old config didn‘t start. So I copied the the hal component form my development folder and it works now.
So you might need to compile it by your own.
