6i25 (5i25) pins won't use internal pullup

I have very stupid cabling that requires me to use stepgens 00, 01, 02, and 04.
Stepgen 03 is not used but I want to use those pins as inputs. Problem is that 5i25 won't pull those pins high with its internal pullup.
Is there a possibility to only load stepgens that I need and leave stepgen 03 as unused? I think that it wont pull those pins high because they are used (loaded)
Or is only doable by editing bitfile?

This requires a new bitfile with different stepgen ordering.
The firmware can do this (enable different features bit by bit)
but the hostmot2 driver can only enable on a module 0..N
basis (basically for simplicity)

Okay. I guess I will just modify the cable. Maybe driver should be written so that you can enable modules 2 ways; first being from 0 to whatever, and second way is to enable specific modules (for example stepgen 0, and 4 maybe)

It would be much easier than to edit bitfile.

Maybe jump over to the Linuxcnc github and raise an issue. That's probably the best way to get the attention of the devs.
