Mesa 7I96 Proximity sensor PNP or NPN? was created by Xyetti
Hello, I am lookingat purchasing a IFM Inductive Sensor at an auction. Can I use this 10...36 Volt DC PNP with the Mesa PWB.
Also is the 10 volt -36 volt to much as I hear people using 5 V induction sensors.

yes, usually you wan to use 24 volts for field power and inputs.
The 7i96 can handle PNP or NPN sensors depending on if you connect +24v or -24v to the input common
7i76e et all prefer PNP anyway!

It is a good Idea always using Normally closed and change the logic as required, this can help to deal with noise environments.
