So this may be just a new to Linux problem but how do you copy or print the Linux error page when first starting up or is there a file somewhere else.

The easier way is just start linuxcnc in a terminal window by typing linuxcnc. Any errors will be printed in the terminal window and you can copy and paste to a text editor so you want to ask for help here.
I often type linuxcnc -l to run the last config I ran.
