Mesa 7i80HD-16: what is the PWM generation precision? was created by travis036
i am just curious, but can't find the info anywhere... what is the precision of the PWM generation on a Mesa 7i80HD-16?
mainly, i am setting up my configs for my PWM controlled laser module, and was wondering what to set the OUTPUT_SCALE to, in order to best use the precision of the PWM generator?
bit of background, if desired: the laser is a Chinese diode laser, 20W (5.5W actual). i will be using it to both burn/engrave wood, and possibly cut thin wood (optional).

The precision of the standard Mesa PWMgen is 12 bits (up to 48 KHz)
and drops to 9 bits at it highest frequency (~390 KHz)
