Is there some reason you are not using the sserial ports
(sserial_port_0) on the 7I85?
Using sserial port1 but not sserial port 0 is a odd setup that may
not have been fully tested. Besides, the 7I85 wiring is much more
straight forward.

The P4 port of the 5i24 is connected to a 7i52 card. (P3 is connected to 7i47). I was going to use the 7i52 card to control x,y,z 8i20 cards however I haven't gotten that far yet. Should I try swapping from the 7i47 to the 7i52 to see if that works?

I would try connecting the 7I84 to the 7I52
The 7I52 manual has the cable pinouts

I swapped everything over to the 7i52 but I'm still not having any luck. I currently have it wired to TX3/RX3 on the 7i52. I also noticed that the CR8 LED is not illuminated. (I probed the solder joints on the RJ45 plug on the 7i84 and verified power on corresponding pins 4,5 and 7,8.) What should I have in my Hal file with this configuration?

Why is chan_0 17 bits, but the others are all 25 bits?

I'm still developing the SSI interpolator circuits so I've been messing with the bits for each channel in Hal.

OK, just something I noticed in passing.
The layout of the smart-serial ports on P3 seems odd, looking at the HMID. Not only are the TX and RX somewhat jumbled up, but there is no RXdata2.
Is this a Mesa-generated bitfile?

I noticed that yesterday when I posted the readhmid file. I'm not sure if is supposed to be that way or not.
Yes, Mesa generated the bitfile for my combination of cards and I/O requirements.
The bitfile is attached.

CR8 not illuminated is a bad sign. This shows power on the cable side of the isolator
Not sure what's going on but if not a cabling issue it may be a bad 7I84

Where is the 7i84? I can check it in the UK, or PCW could check it in the USA.
