DNC (or other direct input) into LinuxCNC was created by robertspark
This is going to be a bit of an oddball question (I did do a search on DNC on the forum).

Is there a way to directly control linuxcnc from an external programme? kind of link DNC?

I ask this because I use lightburn lightburnsoftware.com/ (on occasion) and although it can output a DXF for further post processing (by sheetcam) it can also ouput gcode (just not quite correctly formatted for linuxcnc [it uses M106 for laser control as per GRBL / marlin?]

But it can also directly interface with some laser DSP's..... (via USB).

I ws wondering if there was a way that lightburn could directly communicate with LinuxCNC?

(I know from my past with sheetcam + Mach3 + scanything that sheetcam had a means to directly interface with Mach3).

This is just a shooting the breeze question to see if its been discussed before or there is a way that I can go and read up on or look at what someone else has done.
