HTF you cut stainless 1/4"

I tried and tried. Ended up using 45 tip 40ipm and got it done but ugly cut.

1/8th no problem. Guess I should have used the 105 tip.

Hypertherm 105

Pretty much same as mild steel, but if possible use more current and more speed so the temperature affected area remains smaller.
Not sure what is going on, but use a tad bit more air pressure.
Stainless is very bad at conducting heat so it is somewhat easier to cut on a plasma, but i have limited experience with it like only 2mm thick.
Also check the slag under the cut, if it is easy to remove but there is a lot of it = moving to fast, if it is hard to remove = moving to slow.
