Just wondering should fans be blowing in on the drives to keep them cool or suck air out? Seems to me blowing out but that wont kleep the drives cooler but blowing air across them would...... Is there a precedent or just need air flowing somehow?

Some discussion here: electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/6379/fans-suck-or-blow
One good point there is that with a blow-in fan you can filter the air before it enters the enclosure. With a suck-out fan you could filter the air as it leaves, but why would you?

That's one thing I've been thinking about, at least in regards to the control cabinet.
Since hot air rises I was thinking that blowing cool air in low and sucking hot air out high may work. With the right filters to stop dragging swarf in.

I suck air from the top right and have a vent inlet bottom left. You can put a filter on the inlet...

I've set many fans on cabinets and really neve ask myseld for such question.
Better is to cold blow air in the cabinet in down. All heat will move up and outside with extrapresure from the down fan.
