G71 not working correctly was created by Diederik
Can someone please advice me? I upgraded my lathe last night, to try out the G71 function.
I first tried the example G71 program, but when you stop it in the middle of the program, then you need to restart linuxcnc to try again.
It gives a error: G7x error: Not monotonic.
I also tried to write my own program, but immediately comes up with the same error.
Does anyone have some examples that's working?

Okay, I think there might be a problem on 2.9
Today I'm trying to run a part that I did before, No changes to the program, Then when I stop the program while it's busy machining, Then I can't restart it again. Gives me a error Line 0 of my program, no S word given with G96.
Then I have to restart linuxcnc again.

If you think there is a issue the correct place to report that is:

I have been having the same issue of getting the error "S word missing with G96" when reloading a G71 file.
I've been using the workaround of issuing a MDI "G97" as shown in this link. bugs-issues-found-running-a-lathe-in-2-8-0-pre1#102320
If this is a bug one of us should get it reported.

I Downgraded back to 2.8, and still have the error: S word missing in G96, even in 2.8

So I tried to just get the job finished yesterday, and endured the problem to finish the job,
Thanks @BigJohnT, I will report as instructed.

My Apologies. I got G71 to work now... (on a sim config on my laptop)  Not sure what I did different now... (Wait... I figured that out... incorrect use of G42.1... G42.1 sends my tool into the job... I wrote a different program, and forgot to use G42.1 ... Now I'm confused again about G42.1 ... Why did it send the tool into the job...? I will figure that out too...)

I'm going to Upgrade my lathe again... Back to 2.9-pre, and try it again. I think I might have had a problem in my program, So going to test it out. It works quite differently from Siemens and Fanuc... But I just have to get used to it...
Will report back on the G96 S-word missing problem tho... I do think there is a bug...
