7i95 NPN proximity sensor wiring

Hi,

I am currently wiring my 7i95 inputs and stumbled upon the difference between using NPN and PNP sensors. The data sheet of the 7i95 says:
"For sinking type inputs, the input common pin for a given input pair is grounded and a +4 to +36V signal is applied to the input pins to activate the input". I am using NPN proximity sensors. Is my wiring correct?

Thanks in advance!

For NPN you would connect:

COMMON 0,1 to 5V or 24V (24V preferred)
Pin0 to your NPN signal (NPN will switch GND to SIGNAL)

NC / NO (normally closed or normally open) can handled in your HAL file.

There are two PINs for your Input-00 e.g.:

hm2_7i95.0.inmux.00.input-00 and hm2_7i95.0.inmux.00.input-00-not

I should re-write that manual page to include the sensor type
It's not clear that "sinking inputs" refers to the 7I95 input not the sensor

Sinking inputs connect to sourcing sensors (PNP sensors)
Sourcing inputs connect to sinking sensors (NPN sensors)
