Spindle homing was created by htdave
Does my vfd need to handle spindle homing for tool change, or can I do it through lcnc?
My spindle has a home pulse to ensure it is correctly aligned for tool change.
I need to get a new vfd, and if i don't need to home with the vfd, it increases my options for vfds.

thanks

That is done during your remap of M6 for the toolchange. The vfd does not orient the spindle.

So the homing encoder would be wired directly to my mesa board instead of the vfd?

correct. So you would normally remap M6, and one of the things to do for this remap is orient the spindle to the correct position.
