I have started over and havent messed with anything since family and Thanksgiving took priority. After posting this thread I went back and have Debian loaded, and after reading Im a little confused on how to try and load LinuxCNC. The way I understand is that I need to be loagged on to my Linux account, is this correct. I did the Debian load from the Microsoft Store and used Virtual Box. I have that actually working now, but now the problem is that I cant seem to connect to the internet to download the LinuxCNC while logged into my Linux account. Before I go into the Linux from the Virtual Box I show that I have a connection. I have tried everything that I understand as to what to do to get a connection but nothing works. Any suggestions

It will not work to try to control a machine running Linuxcnc in a virtual machine like Virtualbox. The Linux os for Linuxcnc must be installed on a real PC, because it requires low level control and interaction with the PC's hardware to communicate with the cnc machine's hardware. It is perfectly ok to install Linuxcnc in a virtual machine for simulation purposes, but it will NOT work to try to use that to run an actual machine.
