I received my vfd and spindle was created by PhilipME
Good day
I ordered the kit( vfd+spindle ) from G-Penny. In the picture they show huanyang vfd. But when I received the kit, it turned out that the vfd is changzhou. I should have specified the vfd before the order. It is my fault.
I spent a week studying the huanyang vfd ( No body should laugh). If I get a huanyang vfd now, I can serial connect it to linuxcnc.
there are 2 useful videos in youtube about setting the changzhou vfd, but nothing about serial communication.
Not sure if this changzhou vfd similar to yalang or to huanyang or its own vfd. or if linuxcnc has a driver for it.
I still can run it manualy, or via 0-10 volt signal, but it will be cool if I can read the rpm.
Best regards

If the picture isn’t what they sent then I would attempt to get them to swap it.

Thanks Andy
It will take very long time for sending back and re-delevering assuming they will agree to replace the vfd.
I already started the motor from linuxcnc machine via analog 0-10 volt, and working on the calibration. It does not run at the speed I input to linuxcnc machine. Not sure where to look for calibration/scale but I will find it. ( when I adjust the values in the stepconf in the spindle page, the behavior is not linear)
So I will work with this vfd using analog communication, and I will study the vfd generic driver for linuxcnc when I am out of the building phase and can spare more time.
Best regards
Philip

Analog control is more realtime anyway, I sometimes wish that I had chosen that for my lathe as sometimes you can hear the steps in speed control on facing cuts.
