LinuxCnc M3 S0 was created by Kost
Hello!

I'm using linuxcnc 2.7.14, and get some troubles with spindle control. I want to start spindle with M3 S0, and later set S to some number. But it doesn't spin after S0. In active g-codes i have M3 and desired S, button "run" in axis is pressed, but net spindle-on is always false and spindle-speed-cmd is 0. If i start the spindle with M3 S100, stop it with S0 and start again with S100 spindle doesn't run with symptoms above.
Manual says that using  M3 S0 is ok, nothing wrong with it. I know that i can use M5 and other commands, remap something and more... But why it doesn't work in that simple case? Maybe this is known problem?

Have you tried M3 S1000 ? I am not sure without test but M3 S0 you are asking it to give a speed of zero

I found a poor man's workaround for this bug, signal spindle-brake works with m3 s0 and m5. Take this to inverter, remap S to m68, and my problem solved. Spindle-brake has adequate reacton for estop and program stop.
