I'm configuring a few new boxes (with an older usb boot drive) and ran into a few install problems. (finding repositories, etc.)
I went to the linuxcnc.org/downloads/ to grab a new iso starting point and the docs there indicate both
The "LinuxCNC 2.8 Downloads" section uses a link/description vs the "LinuxCNC 2.7 Downloads" section using a description/link order.
If you can confirm that 2.8.2 Debian 10 Buster PREEMPT-RT-ISO is now the preferred starting point, I could update this page to clarify downloads.

- LinuxCNC Uspace 2.7.0 Debian 9 Stretc h

Yes 2.8.2 is the latest official release, others are EOL so not supported anymore.
