Run in Place & Position Logger problem

Hello.
I got my 6 - Axis robot working with genserkins in version 2.8.2 (Iso Image). I installed the Position Logger from BigJohnT 
( jethornton.github.io/emclog/index.html ).
Working good so far.
Now i want to use the switchkins funktionality so i build the newest version from the master branch. I can run the new version (2.9) with the script (as  discribed in the readme) "Run in Place". That works. But the Position Logger cant find this version of linuxcnc ( on startup says "linuxcnc is not running").
is there a way  to tell the programm where it is?
Or is there a way to "install" (Overwrite?) the old linuxcnc version so that i dont have to "run it in place".
I´m a bit confused right now... would be grateful if someone has an idea.

You might need to . ./rip-environment and then re-build the position logger so that they can see each other.
