Wiring VFD to Mesa 7i76E was created by ryanmontrose
Hello all,
I am having difficulties setting up my H100-1.5C2-1B VFD to my Mesa 7i76E.
Background:
The Ethernet connection between the 7i76E & computer is working, I'm able to ping the board, and the board is recognized within Pncconf wizard.
While in manual mode (i.e. F001=0: keyboard, F002=3: potentiometer of keyboard) I'm able to control the frequency via potentiometer located on the face of the VFD. However, I would like to control the frequency/spindle speed using my Mesa card. (Not sure if reverse direction is needed but wouldn't hurt to have)
I have largely based my connection attempts using the diagram presented in here .
A pinout of the VFD is viewable here .
I've taken the liberty to attach photos of the VFD manual here . (Haven't been able to find an online copy)
If someone could help me make the proper wiring connections and Pncconf spindle settings, I would be greatly appreciative!
Best regards,
Ryan

Yes, J3 is set to V.
I was able to get it working with the potentiometer on the face of the VFD if thats what you are asking.

Did you set all motor related parameters or were those pre-configured?
Like rated power, rated voltage, rated current, rated Hz, max Hz etc... or do you need help as well?

No I meant an external one, or just use 2 resistors to see if any external input works.

I don't have a 7I76E, this setup works on another board.
F001 =1
F002=1
F044=1
F045=5
Spindle Enable + X1
Spindle Enable - GND
Spindle DIR + X2
Spindle DIR - GND
Spindle + P12
Spindle OUT AI1
Spindle - GND
