VFD Common ACM and DCM wire? was created by Eyecon
I just received my Huanyang VFD and spindle and I’m trying to figure out if it would be ok to use one wire for the common signs of both the digital and analogue inputs on the VFD to be controlled from the Mesa 7i76e board. I only have 4 conductor shielded cabling and I was hoping I could wire use 2 wires for the 10v and variable voltage output on the Mesa board, use the 3rd wire as the “enable”(forward) signal, and the 4th wire as a common for the digits and analogue control signals

I'm not really sure you can do it, but you could certantly try, before that i would suggest to try giving the VFD commands for enable with one ground and than the other, they should be interchangable i think, after all they are both ground
