No steps Mesa 7i76e was created by ggsxx
Hi I'm new here and i'm Vincent. So i have been trying to get Linuxcnc to move a stepper motor to move but without success. I can get the Linuxcnc to move in all axis but the stepper don't move. I have tried wiring all 4 wires coming out of TB2 to my tb6600 driver. I tried the different ways of wiring it and changing the steps settings.I know the driver works i checked it with an arduino before installing it. I have resd and tried all the possible wiring to the driver before asking here.I tried checking the pids in all show and some get no response.Not sure if i have everything set right in the hal or ini files. The HAL and INI files look OK
It sounds like an electrical issue if 15000 ns step pulses don't work
Have you tried single ended wiring:
7I76E+5V --> Drive Step+ and Drive Ena+
7I76E Step- --> Drive Step-
7I76E Dir- --> Drive Dir-
7I76E Step+ unconnected
7I76E Dir- unconnected

Also do not wire the enable on the drives until you get things working, it is technically a disable input, not enable.

Yes i have tried wiring it that way. That's the way i tested it with the arduino and i have not connected the enable pins.Is there a pid in halshow that would make me see if i get an output to the TB2 Step/Dir 00 ? I'm trying to borrow an oscilloscope from a friend to see if something is coming out the board.

Also you might try 20000 ns, some drives have very slow OPTOs
You can check the outputs by setting the step mode to quadrature
and moving very slowly (quadrature will not work with your drives but
will give square wave outputs that you can check easily with a LED or voltmeter)

I managed to borrow an oscilloscope and no signal are coming ou the mesa card. Is there something that would not enable the stepper signal to go out? There is 5 volts a the gnd and +5v pin of Step/Dir 00 of TB3.

Did you try 20000 on the steplen?
Does the direction signal change when you jog in alternate directions?
What are the static voltages on STEP+, STEP-, DIR+, DIR- ?

So i did try putting 20000 on the steplen and nothing.I changed the step type to quadrature. The pid for stepgen positon-cmd doesn't change but the pid for stepgen position-fb does change. Also i'm not shure what you mean by static voltage at step+, step-,dir+,dir-.
