Spindle encoder help was created by ncf250sd
Hey all,
I have a few questions regarding my spindle rotary encoder installation; I can't seem to get it to work.   I have a 3-axis mill with steppers, linear encoders, Mesa 7i76e and 7i85 cards and a VFD driven spindle motor.  The linear encoders are TTL mode, and I have jumpers W10, W11, & W13 set to TTL.  I just got a spindle rotary encoder (I attached an image of my encoder) and have it wired like this:
TB3 :
PIN 14 = Index -
PIN 13 = Index
PIN 12 = + 5 V
PIN 11 = B -
PIN 10 = B
PIN 9 = GND
PIN 8 = A-
PIN 7 = A
I set jumpers W4,W5,W6 in the right-hand position.
Questions:
1. Are these jumpers set correctly?
2. Is the wiring, ok?
3. I have attached my INI File and HAL file.  Do you see any problems with them?
When I test the encoder, I can't get any changes in HAL meter.  Maybe I'm not testing the right parameters?
Any help getting me on track to get this resolved would be appreciated.

The spindle encoder on the 7I76E would be encoder 4
If 7I76E + 7I85 or 7I85S firmware is used, the 7I85 or 7I85S
would have encoders 0..3
