CLOSED LOOP STEPPER NOT RUNNING was created by rajsekhar
I AM USING PARALLEL PORT AND CLOSED LOOP STEPPER.
MOTOR AND ENCODER IS CONNECTED, BUT IT IS NOT RUNNING. A HYBRID STEPPER WAS RUNNING WELL ON THAT AXIS EARLIER. O CHECKED WIRING, NO FAULT APPARANTLY.
WHEN AXIS IS JOGGED, RED LED GOES BLINKING 7 TIMES. I COULD FOUND ANY REASON. MOTOR AND DRIVE DATA SHEET ATTACHED
ANYONE HAVING SUCH ISSUE EARLIER?

See manual page 13, the error code of 7 red blinks means position following error. There must be an error in your wiring; the motor is running opposite of the expected direction. The driver is trying to solve the error by sending out more pulses, but this only makes the problem worse.
Solution: swap one motor coil (A+ - > A- and A- => A+), this will reverse the motor direction and thus solve this error.
BTW: please fix your caps, normally I don't respond to shouting people.

For clarity, on the internets using caps is considered screaming. Sometimes it is useful to draw attention to a part of the text, otherwise it is frowned upon.

Sorry for the caps.
I checked the connection once again. Motor black(A+) is connected to drive A+ and A- red to drive A- and same for B phase. Even I changed SW5 to change default direction but no luck.
Motor, on pressing jog, tend to start but then comes back resulting a vibration like motion.
Any clue for solution?

Dear Friends,
Problem solved, motor is running successfully.
Problem was with encoder cable, the interconnecting cable supplied by manufacturer had pin mismatch between ends.
Sorry once again for the caps.

Apologies sincerely accepted.
The pin mismatch of the encode mirrored the encoder feedback. Swapping motor coils would have worked as well, because then both would have been mirrored.
The reason that SW5 didn't work is that this switch merely inverts the direction signal of the input. In normal operation this switch can be used to correct the way your machine moves without swapping cables. On normal stepper drives you won't find this switch normally, because there the problem would be solved by swapping coil. Off course, the behavior of the direction can also be solved in Linuxcnc.
Glad it works, have fun with these units.
