The hostmot2 driver is part of LinuxCNC,

I can´t get a connection to my 7i95. Thought, maybe hm2 has something to do with it.

This is most likely a network setup issue.
1. Is the 7I95 jumpered for a 192.168.1.121 address or 10.10.10.10 address?
W16,17 = DOWN,DOWN for 192.168.1.121
W16,17 = DOWN,UP for 10.10.10.10
2. What is the result of typing the command:
ip a
in a terminal

I had it set up, but my SSD died. So I have to set it up again.
1. Jumpers are set for 192.168.1.121
2. i have to come back at you with that tomorrow. Currently away from machine.
Thanks

I got it. I configured the Ethernet connection as 192.168.1.121. Of course that would not work. Changed it to 192.168.1.111 and it ping as well as mesaflash works.

running my pncconf wizard it says, i do not have hostmot2 firmare downloaded in folder: /lib/firmware/hm2. PNCconf will use internal firmware data.
Is that a problem?

I downloaded the 7i95 software from mesanet and unzipped it into the missing folder. Now it seems to work without any pncconf popups.

No need to download anything for most of Mesa boards, it was required for older cards that would load the firmware at every boot.

That is just a warning and can be safely ignored, as it says at the end, it will use internal data.running my pncconf wizard it says, i do not have hostmot2 firmare downloaded in folder: /lib/firmware/hm2. PNCconf will use internal firmware data.
