Hardware selection for lathe with spindle servo y ATC was created by Tecnoworld
Hello,
I have a high speed lathe for small pieces.
The config is the following:
axis x and z servo 1kw, step/dir
spindel servo 3kw, step/dir
ATC 12 tools, 6 of them motorized with servo 1kw step/dir
I need spindle sychronization with the motorized tools.
I need position of C Axis
I need constant cutting speed.
What for hardware is recommended?
Exist for this config a HAL as starting point?

Mesa 7i95 should do just fine, it has step/dir outputs and encoder inputs in case you need them, and enough IO for most use cases. Of course it can be expanded a lot for whatever you might need in the future.

But this is not available in stock.
I´ve read the manual, and there are encoder inputs for spindle syncronisation.
I´m not sure, that this works like I want/need. The machine has before a Fanuc controller. With this controller the spindle was a servo drive, I could use the spindle as C-Axis and also for threadening/synchronisation with tools.
But I don´t have an additional encoder on the spindle - this information comes from the spindle drive. The encoder from the spindle goes to the servo drive of the spindle.
If it works, any hints where I can buy this Mesa 7i95?

It does work, even if there is no encoder for the spindle to the Mesa board, just set the stepgen in position mode when it needs to act as a C axis.

Or do you just need the tool post to move in coordination with spindle rotation (for example, as used in threading operations)

Can you explain what you mean by this? Do you need the motorised tools to rotate in phase with the spindle? (gear hobbing, for example?)I need spindle sychronization with the motorized tools.
