Ethernet is rated per the standard to 100 metres.
Cat 6 just supports higher bandwidth at that length.
I doubt a Mesa card runs at Gb speeds so cat 5 will be fine for most Mesa applications. Cat 5e which is generally whats used for Cat 5 cabling for the last 10-15 years is rated fro Gb speeds anyway.
