Hi,

I downloaded the official RPi4 image from linuxcnc.org .
Documentation says it should auto-update to LinuxCNC 2.8.2, but it throws error
Repository 'http://raspbian.raspberrypi.org/raspbian buster InRelease' changed its 'Suite' value from 'stable' to 'oldstable'

instead
.

Are there any stable images for LinuxCNC 2.8.2?

Thank you
George

I have problems updating the buster image overall.

Is there any RPi image with LinuxCNC with bullseye?

As far as i know, LinuxCNC version 2.8.2 is not compatible with Bullseye.

If you want to try a image with 64-bit version 2.9.0pre, you can see at this link:

Its been a while since I tried but installing Debian Bullseye for the Pi from debian.org is pretty easy.
To add a GUI, you need to run tasksel (which may need to be installed with apt first)
Preempt_RT would not install from the repos so I had to use this method mentioned earlier

QTPYVCP and PYVCP is a problem because they need VTK which is not available from the pi repos. It is possible to build it but its an overnight job.
ftree built a image which is discussed somewhere on this forum but his code is here and includes a VTK whl:

Note this is crosscompiled on a AMD64 linux box. I did it on a virtual instance on Windows.
I did finally get QT running!
