I am having a tough time getting truetype-tracer installed on linux mint 19.1 mate.  I have everything else up and running with linuxcnc but I cannot run any of my text  xml files for vcarving text in nativecam.  I suspect that ngcgui ttf will not work either without truetype tracer and ttf freefont installed.  I have everything installed on a 64 bit Thinkcenter m series.  Using a parallel port for running linuxcnc.  Linuxcnc 2.8.  I had everything working fine on an old i386 Dell on linux mint but lost the truetype-tracer capability when I upgraded.

If anyone can point me in the right directions it would be greatly appreciated.

This is the third topic with the same subject started by you, although one of those is from 2017 and two are in last week.

I just wasted 15 minutes looking for what is going on with truetype tracer and it seems it is a LinuxCNC thing, not Linux, so i found it here:
linuxcnc.org/dists/stretch/base/binary-a...acer_4.1-4_amd64.deb
Download and install with gdebi or by double clicking on it.

I am deleting the other new topic.
Here is the old one:
