Malin board with Linuxcnc was created by GlenB
Hello,
New to this forum.
I saw several YouTube videos on the software, and wondered if I could interface it to a Marlin boaerd running gcode?

What I have done is take an BTT SKR 1.4 turbo board and remove the stepper driver modules.  I designed a board that converts the
raw stepper outputs for all three axis to open collector, and run them to the DM556 external driver modules.  It works great.

I just wondered if one of the LinuxCNC program options might be to communicate with another Marlin control board?

You know the one about "the only stupid question is the question never asked"

I'm not sure what a marlin board is.

Linuxcnc is a motion controller, that basically output velocity signals.
if the marlin board expects step/direction or analog signals then yes.
If it expects Gcode then no.
Also communication over USB is out with linuxcnc.

There are more details, but that is the quick answer.

Marlin is the software cnc controller used on 3D printers and boards like Arduino Mega.
So no, you can not use LinuxCNC to control a marlin board, but you can flash Remora that is made for use of such boards with LinuxCNC.
Here is everything regarding remora on this website/forum:

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the Marlin control board controls the stepper motors, limit switches, etc.
One would use Gcode via the USB. There is a RPI interface for remote control using OctoPrint, whereby one could completely control the 3D printer remotely (even using a remote camera).
I will investigate the Remora stuff!

Octoprint can be installed on normal PC and android phones, not just RPI. On phones it also uses built in camera for timelapse and monitoring.
