Subroutine was created by Shop Dog
Hello all,

I have a linux pc running Command CNC which I had used for some time for my plasma table.  Recently I adapted a spindle to the table and long story short, I have a subroutine that was graciously provided to me by Command CNC for my specific semi automatic tool changer setup which worked perfectly, other than the X direction after tool setter touch off.  I figured that I could change the X move in the subroutine from + to - myself which I did in something called Fastedit which I grabbed online.  I saved it and replaced the mtoolchange.ngc in the subroutine folder on the machine linux pc and tried to open the same cut file as I had tried previously.  The file doesn't load, no G-Code on screen and the screen locks up with no ability to click any of the radio buttons  I have to do a hard shutdown in order to move on.  If I go back to the original subroutine file that was sent to me, it works fine other than the aforementioned X travel direction.

I have attached the subroutine with the change from + to - for the X axis that I made on line 41 and 46.  I would appreciate it if someone could take a look and let me know if you see an obvious error and maybe moreover if I need special G-Code editing software.

Thanks in advance,.

Steve

Don't need any special editing software to edit a g-code file. Just a plain text editor is all that is necessary. However if you edited the file on a Windows machine, it is possible Windows may have changed line return characters from Linux style to Windows style. It is possible that can cause problems. A program like Notpad++ in Windows or Geany in Linux would be able to check and view the line endings and convert them and save the file in your desired format.

Todd,

Thanks for the quick response.  I believe that was it.  I did some research and downloaded something called Sublime.  I made the same exact changes as I had done previously and it worked perfectly.  Cutting again :)
