Fanuc serial encoder wiring was created by M4MazakUser
So, now I have firmware, a fanuc a1000ia encoder, and I need a check on its wiring. It only has RD and *RD for data. What do I connect Fabsdata, FabsRqpin, and FabsRqenpin to ? I'm sure I read this somewhere, can't find it anymore.

Unfortunately that's a type II encoder and there is currently no firmware/driver support
for that.
Type I has separate request and data pins (RS422) and a 1.024 MHz baud rate
Type II has shared request and data pins (RS-485) and a 2.048 MHz baud rate
for that.

Anyone know of a part number for a serial encoder then that suits a red fanuc motor (pretty sure I can adapt anything) -one that works with the fanuc firmware.

No promises bu if I get a spare moment I can take a look at type II support
Its difficult as there is basically no documentation available

Was going to say, that if the serial card i have has the possibility of talking to it, I do know a guy, will have to see if he's available. And yeah, there's not really much on them

A normal serial card/UART is not likely to work
(the type I protocol is77 bits and I expect the Type II is similar)
