Hello,
thanks for that guys.
I am not sure if i will have time on today to try out what you posted, but as soon as i do i will let you know the results
When i typed this on yesterday: 'ls -l linuxcnc/'
It showed me the 2 folders (ngc file folder and config) with blue text color (if i remember right).
So it seems that i have access to the files. I hope i will manage to get the files transfered to a USB. I will let you know how it went.
thanks for that guys.

Hello guys,
i have tried everything you told me to try but without positive results.
I then took out the SSD and put it into my Windos workshop PC and was able to copy the linuxcnc config files, so the most important thing is done.
Then i installed the last Linuxcnc (i think 2.8.2) installed which worked fine, but of course its LINUX and there is no way that its works out of box for me without any problems: Network manager icon is missing..
Network is working, both my card (intern and extern) are active and i also have a active internet connection, but without the network configuration options i am not able to give the ethern card the correct IP for my MESA 7i76e.
PS: I used the same USB Linuxcnc installer as i used couple weeks ago for my CNC Painter i am building atm and i remember that on that pc the Network manager problem is exactly the same, so it has something to do with the Linuxcncn Installer i am using (the last official on the official download page it is i think). There its not really important, because i dont need the internet connection, but for the Lathe i need it to setup the 7i76e..

So, i got it done. Deinstalled Network-Manager with synaptic package manager and then installed it again, as well as something like "network manager gnome frontend".
I worked somehow.
I then copied my files to the folder and started Linuxcnc. Seems like all my physical buttons are working, also the spindle, but my axis motors are not working.
The motors are powered..
What am i missing? I first started pcnconfic and loaded my pcnconfic file from my linuxcnc setup. Then i just accepted everything as it was and then i copied all the files to the confic folder. Thats all i did...

It is as simple as
copy the config folder
open the config folder
find the INI file and right click on it, choose "open with other app" and type LinuxCNC in the box near the bottom.
_
or if you also saved the desktop shortcut, make that shortcut executable.

Not sure why you did that as PncConf will overwrite the files.I first started pcnconfic and loaded my pcnconfic file from my linuxcnc setup. Then i just accepted everything as it was and then i copied all the files to the confic folder. Thats all i did...

Hello,
i have tried that, but still the motors are not turning. I copied the config from my usb stick, so they were not overwritten.
Ps: sorry for creating a new topic, but i thought that its a new problem so i continue i a new topic

Hello,
I have spent today about 10h to find out why my axis motors (chinese 400w integrated servo motors).
I installed 2 different Linuxcnc installer versions, but it didn't helped. I have now LinuxCnc 2.9 installed and everything is working fine expect the both axis motors.
What I found out while trying to find the problem:
My proximity homing switch of the X axis wasn't working, so I checked the wiring. I have a control panel with mpg wheels and quiet many buttons buttons, but the control panel was mounted so that it squeezed couple of input/output wires. I fixed it and the proximity switch is working.
When starting linuxcnc I am getting no errors.
The motors are powered.
Without your help the next thing I would try is to connect both axis to the 2 other axis terminals on the 7i76e that are unused and do the changes in the HAL.
I just don't get it why after reinstalling linux/linuxcnc and using the exactly same config as previously used my motors are not spinning.
I am thinking if I damaged something on the 7i76e because of squeezing the wires with the control panel. I am not 100% sure, but it could be that the 24v that alao supplies the proximity switches had a short circuit due to the squeezing of the wires.
If that happend, what could have been damaged and how could it be diagnosed?
I am helpless to be honest.

When everything is powered, try spinning the motor shafts by hand, they should not move.
If you have a DVM or a scope, check the step/dir pins on the Mesa if they are outputing any voltage while not jogging and while jogging.

Thanks.
- Motor shaft not possible to spin
- checked with DVM if anything happends on the axis terminal pins on the 7i76e while in homing sequence, but no changes happend. If i remember correctly 2 or 3 pins had 4,95 V or so. I will check it on tomorrow again to give more precise information.
I could have mentioned that in the post earlier, sorry for that.

I did some research and currently (without checking the step/dir pins) i think my step/dir drivers are damaged.

I have someone who already ones repaired my 7i76E, so i would like to order those drivers. 74ACT540DTR2G is in stock, but unfortunately 74ACT541DTR2G is not available anywhere. Is there a replacement driver that could be used?Yes, U12 and U19 were likely damaged
These are a 74ACT540DTR2G (U12) and 74ACT541DTR2G (U19)
Thanks in advance.

Some news:
I checked the voltage between Dir+ and Dir-, as well as between Step+ and Step- . Result: 0.02 - 0.04 V, no matter if Linux is on or.off, or if the homing process is active.
One of the drivers (74ACT540DTR2G) is definitely damaged as can be seen on the pictures. The ACT541 driver on the right side looks optically alright, but that is not a guarantee that its okay, right?
The guy who ones repaired my 7i76e did just send me this as replacement for MC74ACT541DTR2G : a.aliexpress.com/_EyLF0vb
Actually I am.trying to find something in Europe that can arrive in couple of days, but if I have to order from Aliexpress then I will buy the MC74ACT541DTR2G & MC74ACT540DTR2G.
