I am getting ready to retrofit a Hurco VM2 and am looking for some suggestions on boards, PLC for ATC and just some general input from those of you who have already done this

I used Mesa 7i92, 7i77, 7i74, 7i70, 7i71, but now there is a Mesa 7i97 and i would add a 7i84, should be enough I/O for it, but not sure.
