Is it possible to access the tool diameter of a specified tool as a variable from gcode.
I am writing some wizards for converting dxf files to gcode. It would be great if the gcode could determine the diameter of the specified tool at runtime. Sometimes it is difficult to properly program entry and exit routines for tool compensation when doing a conversion of a dxf file.
It would be great for example, if the code that was going to cut a pocket could look at a tool table value and determine how much to inset to compensate for the radius of the tool.

You bet Allen, it is #5410. I just used the other day for the same thing. Take a look in the subroutines section at the taper od one for an example.

John,
Thanks a lot. I tried to find it in the pdf docs without any success. Maybe I was just looking in the wrong place. Is that info in the pdfs or just on the web?
Never mind I found it! Duh!
