Out of curiosity, why isn't Probe Basic GUI included with LinuxCNC installation?

Because it's a completely separate project, that overlaps development already in linuxcnc.

Is it a reliable GUI? I'm pretty happy with Gmoccapy but the conversational code seems very handy.

Lots of people use it as I understand. The fellows working on it are dedicated and skilled.
But I have not used it.
