When I set up my Wheezy machine years ago I needed help to understand how to work with Stepconf to get approximately
correct .ini and .hal files and then how to edit those files so the machine would finally work.  After using it for years, I needed to replace
the computer and on the new one I installed Buster 2.8.2 and am having the same type problems I had with wheezy that those same
files are not correct but then I cannot figure out how to edit them like I was instructed before on wheezy.
My hardware is set up for XYYZ operation. Using a standard desktop computer with parallel port drive through Xylotec hardware.
I use stepconf to  configure and choose XYZA configuration and then figure on editing .ini and .hal as I did on Wheezy. But stepconf
does not complete configuration of the A axis as it must be for some other  type of installation and does not have options to set
all  the axis variables as on the Y axis.
I am sorry that I cannot figure it out and must bother you but I have searched for information on this forum and cannot find anything
related to this.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

Joe

Stepconf in Buster 2.8 will correctly write a gantry config without any stuffing around with an A axis. (and has for about 7 years....)
Its quite different from 2.7.

In stepconf pick 'y step' for the first y joint and 'tandem y step' for the second y joint
