Subroutine nesting was created by GeneRF
I have been using LinuxCNC for several years, quite successfully, but I have not used subroutines. I now want to do so.
Reading the documentation I have come across a curious statement saying:
I am current using version 2.8.4, but this same statement has been included in many versions of the documentation.
I may be misinterpreting the meaning of "bodies", but this statement appears to be self-contradictory.
Any enlightenment would be welcome.

Reading the documentation I have come across a curious statement saying:
Subroutine bodies may not be nested. They may only be called after they are defined.
They may be called from other functions, and may call themselves recursively if it makes sense to do so.
The maximum subroutine nesting level is 10.
I am current using version 2.8.4, but this same statement has been included in many versions of the documentation.
I may be misinterpreting the meaning of "bodies", but this statement appears to be self-contradictory.
Any enlightenment would be welcome.
