7i80-DB + 7I76 pinout confusing was created by GDTH
Hello,
I have a 7i80-DB + 7i76, it is my first time working with these mesa boards, as I have worked with the 7C80 which is preconfigured.
The board is running fine, i am able to run the stepgens.
I have been usings other forum questions to figure this out.
7i80db_25_7i76x3.bit is installed.
What i find confusing is that some 7i80 hal files i have seen use the following for a ouput:
hm2_7i80.0.7i76.0.0.output-05
However linuxcnc errors when i use it, if i look in my halshow, it just gives me:
hm2_7i80.0.gpio.[0-67] some only contain input and some also an output
Although this might work, i am a bit confused on which pin is connected to the physical pin.
Also i feel like i am missing something, as everyone else uses the first option.
I appreciate all help.
Regards,
Andries

This is a bit silly, the reason why it was not showing is because the 7i76 did not have have power. I thought that the power from the host fpga was enough.

Field IO will not work without field power.
But not always, so boards will show the field IO as they do not require field power.
