Anti-stall spindle was created by frogandspanner
I am in the process of linuxCNCing my Chinese 9x20 lathe (bought 27 years ago for the rebuild of by 1966 Norton 650SS).
Z is now working, with homebrew USB HID inputs and a jog wheel and slew/traverse switch to provide a reasonable MMI.
I replaced the AC spindle motor with a DC version so I could simply (and cheaply) control the spindle speed. This involved stripping out the gearing and (I subsequently discovered) the spindle anti-stall clutch.
I wondered if there was a module for linuxCNC that could detect spindle stall so power could then be shut off.

It could be cobbled together from the spindle speed
(from the spindle encoder), and the near component
(basically similar to whats done to generate spindle-at-speed)
