Mesa 7i97 + 7i74 + Siemens SINAMICS V20 - 6SL3210-5BB23-0BV1 via Modbus

Hello,

for my new project i decided to use a Sinamics V20 in combination with a 7i97 + 7i74 .....
I want to use Modbus to control my Spindle .... The Mesa 7i74 documentation says:

RS-485 CAPABLE CHANNEL
Channel 7 of the 7I74 has an output enable and can be used for RS-485 half duplex
type applications. For 2 wire half duplex type RS-485 interfaces, the RX+ and TX+ lines
and the RX- and TX- lines should be tied together at the 7I74.

Has anyone used Modbus with a Sinamics V20 drive?
Will it work with rs485?

There is an experimental modbus driver for Mesa hardware: mesa_modbus
It requires a modbus device specific .mod file and firmware that includes
PktUART firmware for the RS-485 interface.
