Is Linuxcnc suitable for my purpose was created by sgt_mike
I downloaded the ISO of "buster" loaded it on a all in one Leveno computer. Which went well thus far everything went pretty well.

My plan was to intergrate the software with a hobby 3 axis router such as a Genmitsu 3018 or maybe a larger version for the workspace.  As I read on this forum which thankfully many members seem to be well versed in CnC. Which for me I'm extremely lacking except the desire.

I have come to the conclusion that the setup that I'm wanting to achieve is that Linuxcnc is not the best choice for the Genmitsu type of machine. As they already have a boards and controller setup in GrBL, and without replacing boards and reinventing the whole aspect of the machine> I would be better served with a Linux based CRBL program such as maybe candle or something along those lines.
Am I wrong or am I missing that maybe Linuxcnc can work with GRBL machine?
Thank you.

Linuxcnc is a cnc controller, so if your machine already has a GRBL controller then you do not need linuxcnc.

Thank you Sir
That pretty much echo's what I have come to the conclusion. Not that Linuxcnc has any faults or anything negative. It is just not the best hammer from the tool kit for what I'm planning on using for a machine. Without performing modifaction of the controller board .

Does the machine have separate stepper motor drives?

well as I have not purchased the machine yet.

From what I seen yes it has a stepper motor for each three axis's X Y and Z
I'll post a link to the ad from the vendor

Now I do understand that I CAN use the base operating system and install  other software say Candle to get to speak to the controller board and machine. but from what I'm gathering without replacing the existing board the built in (Linuxcnc) wont work.
