Sherline chucker lathe threading is not working correctly was created by Brassdream2014
I purchased a Chucker lathe from Sherline three months ago. As I have worked to get the machine up and working I have been building a profile for my business. I tried to get the lathe to do 40 TPI but it is producing what looks like 80 tpi. It has 10mm ballscrews with 2mm pitch. I had problem with distance being correct until Sherline told me to set the revolutions per inch at 6.35. This got the cutting proportion working correctly but the threading is just plain off. Here is sample of my code for threading.
G90
S100 M3
G1 X 0.419 f 2.0
G1 Z 2.4 f 6.0
G33 Z 2.725 K0.025
G0 X 0.390
G0 Z 2.4
M2
Not sure what is going on. Something is wrong with the numbers in the stepconf. All help is appreciated.

I checked and compared the Hal files to ones from my sherline 4000 which threaded correctly. There was information missing in the Chucker hal file.
I built a new profile and had encoder information included. I now get a defined thread but the problem is I changed the K parameter from 0.025 to 0.050 and it looks like 40 tpi. Which should not be. that should be 20 TPI.
not sure what is going on.
