From a quick glance looks like memory issues.
Will take a closer look later if possible.

Test with only one RAM stick, see what works.
Replace the RAM when you can, 1GB is not enough, 4GB are OK, 8GB are nice to have.

I changed the PC to a more modern one and tried to install the linuxcnc 2.9.1 image... but at that point new problems arose:

forum.linuxcnc.org/39-pncconf/50902-no-7...nuxcnc-2-9-1-pncconf

I also tried to understand why the 7i43 is no longer in the 2.9.1 installation image

forum.linuxcnc.org/38-general-linuxcnc-q...out-of-linucnc-2-9-1

You know something about this???

@BobWolf,
You have not replied to PCW answers in one of those topics yet, so why are you repeating the same thing over multiple topics? This makes a mess for anyone trying to help as we can not follow what has already been answered.

OK! I got it
but I also told him in the first answers I gave him that I removed linuxcnc 2.9 to put linuxcnc 2.8, formatting the entire system
the machine works well even with previous versions...

but he never answered me about the reason for removing native support for 7i43 in version 2.9.1 of linuxcnc
and that's why I opened a post in the general linux question section

for me that topic can easily be closed... it went beyond the meaning of the title of the post and I practically solved it (Italian style)
If you want to help me solve my question in the post I made in general questions, I thank you in advance
otherwise friends like before ;-)

ciao
Roberto

Scuzzi Roberto, but i have no idea if it ever was there or not as i have never used a 7i43, but i did use a lot of other Mesa boards, a lot! :)

sorry if I waste your time:
What type of mesa boards do you use or have you used?
if they are the type with serial communication (ethernet type for example) can you insert the firmware that is convenient for your machine into the internal eeprom??? a few years ago after burning a 7i43 I bought a 7i90 and I went crazy inserting the firmware I needed... after which I bought a much simpler 7i43 again

now that I have restarted the old self-built CNC milling machine I don't really want to go crazy configuring it... I use it as a hobby and if it has to become a job...
