You seen to be pulling some of the p-port pins up to 12V, not 5V. I suspect that is not your intention.
It looks like you have already figured out that you need a 4-wire pattern, and that EMC2 can send 4-pin step patterns, see stepgen types 7, 8 and 10. www.linuxcnc.org/docview/html//man/man9/stepgen.9.html
