Get the appimage version, no installation required.
After download right click on it, go to permissions tab, check the "executable", close, double click on the file to run.

Thanks much appreciated.
Seems to be working with no drama and compiles and downloads what seems like 10x faster than on my Win based machine.
I think I have Windows based PTSD;-)
