HI
Does anyone have any knowledge about Probotix? I have a CNC control box from them and I plugged my regular 120v drill press into the router port. I can make it turn on and off but the speed will not change and when I hit reverse it does nothing.

This is a stab in the dark, but drill motors are usually induction types with a capacitor, so they do not reverse without rewiring.
What type of motor did the probotix use?

The router motor that the Probotix box would have used would not have been able to reverse either. Regular routers that plug into a house hold outlet are one way only also. (Often using brushed universal motors.)

If the Probotix box has just a household outlet to plug in the "spindle or router" it would almost certainly be just an ordinary consumer home router motor.
