Mesa 7i96s Is linuxcnc poo poo now,Ive never had to troubleshoot this much. was created by Mac
Hello
Im new to this forum maybe someone can tell me theirs actually works after waiting weeks for my new 7i96s all it has given me is grief from ethernet driver errors to update errors. tried the newest release didnt work. tried older ones they are poopoo. Do the makers of this software test it doesnt seem like it. Is there any software that works with this board without being a genius at linux. I know im complaining a bit Ive spent days to no avail.Im bald from pulling my hair out.You would think Mesa would test it with linuxcnc.I know linuxcnc used to work now everything is horse menure.
I was told it started with implementing ipv6. who cares change it back.no matter what i do i cant get any pulses.

What kernel and Ethernet hardware do you have?
uname -a
will give the kernel version
and lspci | grep -i eth
will usually find the Ethernet hardware
What is the Host PC?
Have you run a latency test?

I didnt mean to come out punching im just frustrated there is alot to take in. I finally had some progress using an old dell pc pulled out of the garage. got it to load and booted to live install. The issue im having now is during setup of steppers when i go into tune the steppers only go in one direction. the stepper just wiggles a little ccw. cw it spins right up.the steppers are new i tried 2 of them same results. On the display it shows it spinning up to speed no errors but motor just sits there.
