have you placed the 5i25 xml file in the correct place , although the 5i25 does not need the bit file , pncconf requires access to the xml

can you check in /lib/firmware/hm2/

if there is a folder named 5i25? or is there just xml files?

they need to be in a folder named 5i25.

You will need to be super user.
open a terminal and enter sudo nautilus

Yes the folders there and all the XMLs have root ownership and have permission to run

I'm sorry I just can't recreate the error.
I compiled 2.5.2, temporarily changed the name of my hm2 file so that I could run the firmware script.
Besides that it didn't make the 5i25 folder, I have no problems.

Does the 5i25 folder have proper permissions? and how did you get that folder, as the script didn't make it for me.
Are you using a run-in-place compiled version or an installed release version?

I can't fix it till I can recreate the error :(
