PNCconf (linuxcnc 2.7.8) not working for Mesa 5i25+7i77

Dear all,
I have configured LinuxCNC on Ubuntu lucid (with linuxcnc.org repository 2.7-rtai) to work with the Mesa 5i25 and 7i77 cards, after the upgrade to LinuxCNC 2.7.8 PNCconf no longer works. Once you have selected the cards you can not continue, there is no tab for select PWMs segnals (not appear 7i77 I/O and 7i77 PWM tabs when I click "accept components changes").
I have tried in Debian wheezy (2.7-rtai) and it works correctly.
Do you know if there is a solution?

I havent tried with lucid but mint seems to work fine...

Is there some reason you need to stay with Lucid? Its quite old now and unsupported (EOL April 2015)

I could get lucid to break as you said but only by trying to load broken firmware first.
Are you using the internal firmware?

I still using Ubuntu Lucid because the newer kernel (3.4-9-rtai-686-pae) have poor performance on my old Dell P4, on Lucid with linux 2.6.32-122-rtai_2.6.32 the latency test is circa 9-10000.

I don't remember now, I will check it. Which firmware you advise me?

If you are using a 7I77, even 100,000 ns latency is not harmful

Dear all, thank you for your help, I have just checked the hostmot2-firmware and there is no package for 5i25 in linuxcnc.org repository, I have to use the firmware downloaded from www.mesanet.com/software/parallel/5i25.zip ?
I will try to reflash Mesa card, please explain me the differences between 5i25_7i77x2, 5i25_7i77x2r and 5i25_7i77x2mev4, from 5i25_7i77x2 and 5i25_7i77x2r there is only connectors swapped I remember but 5i25_7i77x2mev4?

If you are happy with the firmware that is on your 5i25 there is no need to reflash it.
As long as the firmware picked in pncconf matches what the 5i25 has all is good.
Just use the built in internal firmware in pncconf.

Pncconf as the ability to add custom firmware to it's self - but it is not usually needed.
Pncconf does not program the 5i25, it only connects the dots that linuxcnc requires.

I am not sure what the problem is - I can't reproduce it.
Do you build a new config each time or reload a config (in pncconf)?
If you reload one - can you post it?

I have just tried in VirtualBox with Ubuntu lucid, installing linuxcnc 2.6 pnccpnf works correctly but just updating to linuxcnc 2.7 pncconf no longer works (at least selecting the 5i25 / 7i77 cards), i think the problem is in the .deb package.
I tried it both loading a configuration already made and doing a new one.
