hello all, I am getting an odd message window popping up saying im missing a GST file? and i'm not certain what to do about it. looking for some suggestions or thoughts, i tried to dig into it with the little skills I currently posses but its a bit beyond my level and i am hoping for some experience or knowledge that may help resolve it. i have a couple different config files made so far but this one is the primary one i will need to use as it has the ATC functionality in it from a friend and i'm not certain how to get around it. I have attached a screenshot of the error message as well as the file it appears to be looking at when it triggers, not certain if that is helpful at all or not. please let me know if there is anything else i can provide!

Thank you very much in advance!

Chris

as you have found gst is for sounds.
It's a known problem.
What distribution are you using and what version of linuxcnc?

you need the package
python-gst0.10

not sure that is available in stretch.
Norbert has't updated Gmoccapy to use the newer python-gst-1.0 yet.

Ah, ok, would that be done as follows?

sudo apt-get install python-gst0.10

If the package is available from normal repositories that will work... if not you may need to try other things.

or try replacing the file with this;

with that file you wont get sound but shouldn't get an error - tough I didn't actually test it.

wow, so that file was a major break through for me Mr. cmorley! i cannot thank you enough. not all the way home yet, but my config file somewhat loaded albeit very slowly and with no functionality, but it did have a screen and a new set of debug files to tackle. and i am guessing that they all have something to do with a similar situation as the one you brought to light with the files either being too new or too old, not sure which, and not sure of the solution just yet, but it is something to look into for the moment! so thank you very much! just for giggles i am posting my debug report below in the event you see anything that catches your eye.

The problem is not apparent to me.
Does a sim config load up properly - maybe try AXIS?
