TTL (PWM) Laser head and Mesa 7i76

Hi PCW, the wiring from the 5i25 P3 to DB25 conector of the BB is going to be 1 to 1? I mean pin1 from the P3 to pin1 of the DB25, pin2 to pin2, etc...

Yes, you normally use a parallel printer cable for this

(if you use the HDR P2 you need a flat cable adapter from HDR26 to DB25)

Sorry, the P2 wanted to say, I got confused, P3 (the DB25) I have it busy with the 7i76.
I have asked if the pins are the same to prepare the wire.

On P2, HDR Pin 1 connects to DB25 Pin 1, but the other pins are
not in order because of the way DB25 and HDR26 pins are numbered.
You don't need a special cable however just a flat cable with IDC
connectors (one HDR26 , one DB25) on each end.
(Mesa can supply these)

Ok, I'll wait to do it then with the pins you tell me based on the custom firmware.

Here is a 5i25 config with PWM on P2 (it also adds 2 more step/dir outputs)

I see that in the zip comes a .vhd file, what is it for?
The .bit I imagine is to flash the 5i25 again like I did when I bought it.

Just flashed the firmware and verified, it seems to be everything ok.

Now I have some doubts, the first of all I run the Pncconf Wizard and I don´t know what I must to choose on the Mesa Card 0 step at Board Name selection tab (5i25, 5i25-Internal Data, etc...) neither at firmware selector, the 7i76_pwmd doesn´t appears as such.

In the other hand I supposed that with this new firmware I have to remap and reconfig all the pinouts I have, isn´t it?

pncconf is not going to help at this point.

I would use your existing 7I76 configuration (if you have one)
as none of the 7I76 connections have changed, only a added PWM
generator and a couple of step generators have been added to P2
so the only changes needed to your existing hal file are adding
the laser PWM support.
